Hi!

I am Katia Annette! I am a Certified Makeup Artist located in Kansas City, Missouri. I first discovered makeup tutorials on YouTube when I was seventeen, and I was hooked. For the next year and half, my passion and aptitude blossomed as I practiced on my mom and myself. At the age of nineteen, I felt I was ready to make more women beautiful!

Challenges motivate me!

I applied for the job of makeup artists at the known cosmetic stores like Ulta, Sephora, and Lancôme. It was a slow start. After months of waiting, I went back to Sephora and told them I was interested in working there. The manager complimented my makeup and told me about the open position. An interview and a week later, I was hired. Sephora trained and certified me as a makeup artist. There I had the opportunity to learn and grow.

 

The Big Leap

While Sephora provided me with a firm ground to set my feet on, I continued to explore makeup opportunities that came through friends and family. Social media provided a huge boost, and before I knew, my clientele was growing. However, I was at the crossroads. Should I stay at Sephora, where I had a stable job doing what I loved to do? Or, should I put my heart and effort into my own studio, however small it may be? I took the risk, and that was the beginning of Makeup by Katia Annette!
